newlyweds

I was actually hired to be a" fun photographer". Not the professional that is in charge of getting all of the important shots. Mike and Angela wanted someone to be in charge of capturing all of their friends and family enjoying the special day with them. I only attended the reception and Angela's only real request was to get a good picture of the cake and the cutting of it. I have to admit that I was happy to have this shot out of the way. I know that there are shadows but the picture is the real deal with no editing done. The reception was held in the lower level of the Mavris, (downtown Indianapolis) so it was DARK. I struggled with lighting the whole night long. I took over 325 pictures and photographed every single person that attended. My photos might not be professional quality but I made sure that I got at least one good shot of everyone. No eyes closed or mouths open shots allowed. Only smiles and happy memories to remind the newlyweds of how precious the day was. I would certainly do it again if given the opportunity. Being the "fun photographer" kind of works for me.

French Flea Market

Karen, got us invited to participate in a French Flea Market in Tipton Indiana! It was a whole bunch of work and very hot but such a great time. We gathered and created for months trying to get ready. We put our tent up in Karen's garage two weeks ago (thank you, Marty for giving up your parking spot) and spent hours and hours arranging and rearranging things till we got everything perfect. Once we got everything the way we wanted she took pictures so that we would be able to put it back up exactly the way it was in the garage. Thanks to well planning we were pretty successful. The fact that I got to be with my girlfriend and actually make money was the BEST! Here are a few of my favorite things that I sold.

Still have this sewing machine if anyone is interested!! Would love to find it a new home!
Sha
p.s. I want to thank my sweet, sweet, girl-Madi for getting up at 5 am to go help us set up. I am the luckiest Mom to have such an awesome daughter. I also want to thank my Mom and Sister, Kelly for coming. Barni was having technical difficulties (more on that later) so she was MIA.

All for something!!

We spend our summers at baseball fields. We eat and sleep baseball. Both of our boys play and because of their age difference they never ever are in the same place at the same time. Steve takes one and I take the other. If we are lucky Madi will tag along to close ones. We spend a million bucks and sit in the rain or hot hot sun. Usually we come home with nothing but dirty laundry, stinky pitts and rotten feet!! This weekend was different. The Miller Black team won!! It was sweet!! Congratulations number FIVE! Way to go, KID! (baseball lingo) We are so proud of you. The trophy is so cool too!!

Meet Miss. Aniya Kristyne!!! She arrived on Wednesday afternoon weighing in around 6 pounds. She has the softest hair that I have ever seen. I was so excited to take her newborn pictures. Here are just a few before editing.

My Niece and Nephew both graduated this week. They have heard about each other their whole lives but have only seen each other a hand full of times. They are both going to Ball State this fall. She will study architecture and he will study nursing. I hope that they meet there and become friends. Wouldn't that be great? I didn't get to take pictures of Patrick but here are a few of Bailey!! Time sure does fly. It was pretty emotional for me. I cried most of morning. I have enjoyed these kids so much and the thought of them growing up and moving on to college is tough. I was happy and sad all together. I took a census and they are all happy and no sad!!! Ha!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day!

Wilt Chamberlain

McGwire had to be Wilt Chamberlin for a project at school. Since I am a girly, girl my love for basketball didn't come until I had two little boys that were obsessed with the game. I did not know about "Wilt the Stilt" and that he was the tallest man on the NBA when he played (7'1" to be exact). Any way, to make a long story short Steve got so excited about this project that he thought McGwire should be 7'1" for his presentation. He borrowed a pair of dry wall shoes that made him exactly that and then made these purple pants for him. That's right my manly, man can sew and "sew" he did!!! He went to JoAnne fabrics and bought this fabric and came home and made these pants with my sewing machine. Now you all know another reason why I love this man!!

An interesting quote

It says......
Be good at something it makes you VALUABLE..... Have something to bring to the table because that will MAKE YOU MORE WELCOME.
I think it is a pretty good quote! Disney must have thought the same since they put it on this sign right next to the teacup ride.
If any of you are making your way to the Magic Kingdom or to the sunny state next week have a great time!!!! No place better to be over spring break!

Kendall and Tay-Tay!

Most of you know my addictions: SCRAPBOOKING, GOODWILL IN THE WINTER, GARAGE SALES IN THE SUMMER AND OF COURSE, DOUBLE STUFF OREO COOKIES. I can't help myself when it comes to these things.

Even though it is March I am still in the winter season at Goodwill and look what I found there. This is my niece, Kendall with Taylor or Tay-Tay for short. She is in 1st grade and all 1st grade girls are into American Girl dolls. They can only be ordered or bought at the American Girl store. (Chicago is our closest one)They have about a $100.00 or more price tag but are really well made and if taken care of will be easily passed down. A few weeks ago I stumbled onto this doll. I turned her over and read the tag on her neck and sure enough she is an AMERICAN GIRL and the sticker on her said $2.99!!! Can you believe it? She is in perfect condition and has all of her clothes on including shoes and under ware! My older nieces, Kylie and Bailey started Madi on them way back in the day so they were the first people I called about this little cutie!! We were all so excited. It was one of my favorite, favorite finds. Hope you have a happy Monday and if you have time go to Goodwill. Monday's are good days because people clean out their closets over the weekend!!

UCA 2010 National Champions

OMGoodness!!! It was the most exciting weekend. Madi and I traveled to Orlando Florida so that she could compete in UCA nationals. There were 9 teams in her division from all over the U.S. and Canada. Her team has had a lot of injuries this year and a few drop outs so they have not been particularly strong. We both had it in our heads that we were going for the fun and not gonna worry about coming in 8Th or 5Th. The first day of competition the team hit everything and looked fabulous. When the standings were handed out they were in 1st with a comfortable lead. We savored every second of the glory knowing that Sunday's competition carried a 2/3 weight and one fall would probably take them out even with the lead. Well.....wouldn't you know they hit everything again and even cleaned up little mistakes from Saturday's routine. It was crazy. We were all in shock and when they announced the 2ND place team and it wasn't us. No way could this be true. WOW!!! She hasn't won a National title in the six years she has competed. Not even close. She has the gold medal and sacred jacket to prove that dreams do come true. YES!!!!

Important business!!

You would sure think so by this picture, huh!! Truth be told I was probably talking to Barni (my sister). She is the QUEEN of talking on her cell phone. If I talk to her once a day I talk to her five times a day. We call to tell each other little dumb stuff, complain or for a laugh. Conversations are usually short but oh sooo frequent. If a day goes by that we don't talk it is weird and we don't like it. We talk while we are driving, sitting at ball games, grocery shopping, doing the dishes, and so on and so forth. If we can't talk then we send a quick text!!!! Ahhh, I love texting. If I knew who invented the cell phone I would send them a thank you note or give them a hug for giving me the opportunity to talk to my sisters when ever the heck I want to.
Sha

P.S. We have another sister (Kelly) that is a teacher. We don't get to talk to her quite as much but she is pretty stinkin good with the texting!!!

ART!

Do you call this picture art? WELL it is!! Our Miss. Madi is in a photography class at school and one of her assignments was to take pictures inside the car. Hmm. I guess the more I look at it the more I do think it is an artistic expression. Don't you? Ha! Ha! NOT!! Hope you are having a good day!!

McGwire and Huddy

These two boys are so cute when they are sleeping!! Just look at them all snugly. My heart melts when I look at this picture. I don't want them to grow up. I want to freeze time. Keep them at this age for at least another year or two. They are so fun and funny. (and rotten) I try to etch these moments in my brain so I never forget this precious time.

February in Indiana

We have a huge window in our office that looks out at this cute playhouse. Steve built it for the kids probably ten years ago. When they were young I could do work on my computer and watch them play (or fight). It has been a club, an art studio, a hide out and much more. This view holds a million memories for me that I will always treasure. What do you see when you look out your window?
